First of all thanks for visiting my site. If you have just stumbled upon my site by accident, GREAT! Please keep reading. I hope you find a post, video, poem or article that grabs your attention. It’s a tall order on the internet, because most of the things you stumble upon are utter garbage, yet I think you will find a poem, story, activity/exercise that inspires if you are prepared to dig a little deeper.
I began this blog way back in April 2008, in the hope of promoting myself as a Life Coach. Setting myself up as a Careers Life Coach was my first attempt at making it in the world of business. It/I was a categorical failure. I didn’t know the first thing about business. I was overwhelmed, out of my depth, and my self-belief was non-existence. I didn’t stand a chance of making a living self-employed at that moment in time. Not because I lacked ability or wasn’t able. I simply lacked belief in myself.
How could I convince people to trust in my skills as a Life Coach, if I didn’t have faith in myself?
Now 5 years on I recognise that I was missing the point. I expected to be an over-night success. I wasn’t prepared to be a beginner, to start small and slowly build up a practice & my expertise as a coach. I wanted immediate results.
After a few months I did what I had never done before. I quit.
Did it feel good?
Of course not.
(10/2/13) Blurb in process…. To be continued…
I became fascinated with the world of personal-development way back in 1999 when I was back-packing in Australia. I stumbled upon a second- hand book called “Follow Your Heart”, By Andrew Matthews, from then I was hooked.
For many years I just read, read, and read some more. Yet eventually there comes a time when you have to make things happen, otherwise they are just fanciful ideals and thoughts with no substance. The learning has to be grounded in day to day reality and “real” living.
I have begun to realise that there is a MASSIVE difference between reading endless books on personal-development, and actually putting what you read into practice!
LOG OFF, LIVE LIFE….
This blog is about finding yourself, staying true to who you are, and creating a life you deserve.
The ABOUT ME page of any site should explain, at least a little, about the person behind the website, yet it is so hard to write a decent “About Me” page. The majority of the blurbs about the person behind the blog/website often seem to be a little disingenuous. The blogger is often wanting to impress the reader in the hope that they will believe they are highly intelligent, knowledgeable with the hope that they will then go on to buy their product or service.. I hope to be as real, and as honest as I can be….so instead, for the last few years I have wrote nothing!
